HINSDALE - Close to $10,000 in cash and prizes were given away at Hinsdale Greyhound Park on Monday as part of its Labor Day festivities.

The biggest winner was Alexandra Baldwin of Hudson Falls, N. Y., who correctly picked the Twin Trifecta combinations in the 11th and 13th races to pocket $4,954.

Margaret Boardman of Claremont, a regular at Hinsdale Greyhound Park, left with a smile and $1,000. Boardman and her husband David have been coming to Hinsdale for more than 30 years. "We were coming here before we got married," said Boardman who added that her husband was having pretty good luck at the windows Monday, but that she wasn't. "All of a sudden my day just got better," she said as she was handed $1,000.

Francis Slavinski, of Meriden, Conn., walked away with $500. "This was nice. I was having a bad day. This kind of makes up for it," said Slavinski.
